Goodwill of Silicon Valley is actively engaged in developing brighter futures for the youth in Santa Clara County by operating several youth programs designed to serve youth at over 15 school locations in Santa Clara County.

ASSETs (After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens) Funding is provided by the Federal Government through the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 authorized by President Obama. The funds are allocated to the California Department of Education that distributes the dollars via a grant proposal process. School districts and various community organizations apply for these grants via a competitive proposal process. Goodwill of Silicon Valley is the only community organization that authored a winning grant proposal. The grant funds support four East Side Union High School District high schools with an ASSETs Program (After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens). The ASSETs program is offered after school, attendance is voluntary, and each student receives a free meal daily. Offerings of the after school courses include, but are not limited to:

  • AP Tutoring
  • College and Career Support
  • Computer Gaming
  • Cultural and Modern Dance
  • Cyber High (Credit Recovery)
  • Debate
  • Driver’s Education
