Christopher Baker leads Goodwill of Silicon Valley with a commitment to innovation, inclusion,
and community impact. As CEO, he guides the organization’s mission to transform lives through
education, employment, and sustainability, positioning Goodwill to remain a catalyst for
opportunity across the region.
With more than 20 years of global and domestic leadership experience in both the nonprofit
and for-profit sectors, Christopher brings deep expertise in finance, operations, and technology-
driven innovation. Since joining Goodwill in 2009, first as Chief Financial Officer and later as
CEO, he has played a pivotal role in expanding social enterprises, strengthening operational
excellence, and advancing large-scale reuse and diversion initiatives that support both people
and the planet.
Prior to Goodwill, Christopher served in senior leadership roles at Harris Corporation and
worked as a strategic management consultant, where he focused on operational efficiency,
business intelligence, and predictive analytics. His background in technology and data-informed
decision-making continues to shape Goodwill’s approach to sustainable growth and service
delivery.
Christopher holds a degree in Business Administration and is active in several regional
workforce development coalitions, underscoring his commitment to expanding employment
pathways across Silicon Valley. Respected for his collaborative, people-centered leadership, he
believes an organization’s greatest strength is its workforce. Outside of work, he enjoys staying
connected to the communities he serves through cycling, coaching youth sports, and exploring
local thrift stores. Under his leadership, Goodwill continues to empower individuals, strengthen
families, and build a more equitable, sustainable Silicon Valley.
