Hollister Lights on Parade

Goodwill of Silicon Valley is thrilled to announce our recent participation in the 34th Annual Lights On Celebration Parade in downtown Hollister, held on November 30, 2024. This year’s parade theme, “The Characters of Christmas,” inspired our team to create a float that truly embodied the spirit of the season.

Our float, titled “Building Brighter Futures,” featured a festive scene with iconic Christmas characters collaborating to construct a brighter, more inclusive community. This theme resonates deeply with our mission to transform lives through the power of work, fostering hope, and creating opportunities for individuals in our community.

We are honored to share that our float was awarded “Best Use of Theme” by the parade judges. This recognition reflects our team’s creativity, dedication, and commitment to aligning our message with the festive spirit of the event.

The Lights On Celebration Parade, organized by the Hollister Downtown Association, is a cherished tradition that brings together over 70 organizations and hundreds of community members to celebrate the holiday season. The event features a variety of festive displays, performances, and the beloved Dec-A-Tree project, where local nonprofit groups decorate trees that are later donated to families in need.

Our participation in this event not only allowed us to engage with the community but also provided an opportunity to showcase the creativity and enthusiasm of our team. We are grateful for the support of our staff, volunteers, and the community members who cheered us on during the parade.

We invite you to watch a highlight of our award-winning float on our Instagram page.

As we continue to celebrate this achievement, we remain dedicated to our mission of building brighter futures through the power of work. We look forward to participating in future community events and finding new ways to connect with and support the individuals we serve.

Thank you to the Hollister Downtown Association for organizing such a wonderful event and to the judges for recognizing our efforts. We wish everyone a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year.
