If you’re passionate about technology and love helping others, our IT Service & Support training can open the door to a meaningful career in tech. This no-cost program prepares you for entry-level roles in desktop support, help desk, and technical customer service – no prior tech experience required. Graduates are prepared for roles such as:

• IT Support Technician

• Help Desk Specialist

• IT Desktop Support Tech

What You’ll Learn:

  • Troubleshooting and customer service
  • Networking and operating systems
  • System administration and automation
  • Cybersecurity best practices

Certifications Earned:

By the end of the program, you’ll be prepared to earn the Google IT Support Professional Certification (certification exam required).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 18 years or older and motivated to pursue meaningful employment and career growth
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. with valid documentation
  • Live in one of these counties: Marin, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, San Francisco, Contra Costa, or Santa Cruz
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent (HSE/GED)
  • Attend JobTrain’s general orientation and complete registration
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic math, computer literacy, and written and verbal English
  • Have a strong interest in pursuing a tech career
  • Customer service background is helpful but not required
  • Commit to one JobTrain program at a time

To complete your application, you’ll also need to:

  • Watch a brief program overview video
  • Submit a resume and enrollment questionnaire
  • Interview with the instructor and counselor

Veteran Status (provide one of the following):
  • DD214
  • VA ID card or other official documentation confirming veteran status

  • Verification from the SQUARES system

Household Income (for all household members):
  • Two months of recent pay stubs

  • Most recent tax return (Form 1040)

  • Documentation for disability, pension, or retirement income

Identification & Family Information:
  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license, or state ID) for each household member

  • Birth certificates or custody papers to confirm dependents

  • Social Security cards for all household members

Housing Verification:
  • Lease agreement, or

  • A letter from a shelter, institution, or transitional housing provider

QUALIFYING FOR SUPPORT

To participate in Veteran Family Services, the head of household—or their spouse—must be a U.S. veteran, and the household must meet low-income guidelines (at or below 80% of the area median income).
